Temer Properties is pleased to invite qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team.
Key Purpose Statement:
The purpose of the project HSE Officer is to serve as the on-site champion for occupational health and safety, & environmental compliance across all phases of the building construction project. Operating directly on the shop floor, the HSE Officer is responsible for identifying hazards, enforcing the site safety plan, implementing Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, and conducting daily inspections to ensure 100% compliance with local safety regulations, ISO 45001 standards, and company policies. The ultimate objective is to cultivate a proactive safety culture that eliminates workplace accidents, minimizes environmental impact, and ensures every worker returns home safely daily. He/she also make sure as the company operations did not affect the community health, safety and security.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Daily site inspections & corrective action follow-up
- HSE inductions, toolbox talks & safety campaigns
- PPE compliance monitoring
- Hazard identification, JHA & risk assessments
- Incident reporting, investigation & root cause analysis
- Emergency drills & equipment inspection
- Subcontractor & visitor safety compliance
- Permit-to-Work verification (height, excavation, hot work, confined space, lifting)
- HSE meetings & safety communication
- Daily/weekly/monthly HSE reports & documentation
About You
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational health and safety, Environmental health and Related Engineering Filed.
- NEBOSH Certified in IGC1 and IGC2
- Experience:
- 2 to 3 years’ experience on coordinating HSE in large construction Project or Manufacturing Sector.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and standards
- Familiarity with Ethiopian labour laws, Safety directives and environmental regulations
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
- First aid and emergency preparedness
- Knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements
