Good Neighbors (GNE) is a global NGO founded in Korea in 1991, currently operating in 40 countries and supported by seven nations. Since 1997, the Ethiopian branch has been committed to improving lives through initiatives in child protection, education, health, and more. GNE operates in various regions of Ethiopia, including Addis Ababa, Amhara, Oromia, Tigray, Benishangul Gumuz, Somali, Sidama, South Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia. Good Neighbors Ethiopia is now launching a new project in the Tigray Region, funded by Good Neighbors United State and Good Neighbors Ethiopia, aimed to increase student attendance rate and retain student in the teaching system. GNE is seeking a qualified individual to join their team.

Overview of the Position
- The Student Feeding Project aims to provide nutritious meals to students in conflict-affected areas, promoting health, education, and community resilience. This initiative seeks to ensure that children receive the essential nourishment they need to thrive academically and physically despite challenging circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Implementation:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of the student feeding program.
- Coordinate with local schools, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
- Logistics Management:
- Manage procurement and distribution of food supplies, ensuring quality and adherence to nutritional standards.
- Develop a logistics plan to address transportation and storage needs in conflict-affected areas.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Establish and maintain monitoring systems to assess program effectiveness and impact.
- Collect data and prepare reports on program outcomes, including participation rates and nutritional improvements.
- Community Engagement:
- Foster relationships with local communities to promote the project and encourage parental involvement.
- Conduct awareness campaigns about the importance of nutrition and education.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the project budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Track expenditures and ensure compliance with financial guidelines.
- Training and Capacity Building:
- Provide training to staff and volunteers on nutrition, food safety, and program delivery.
- Empower local community members to take active roles in the feeding program.
- Collaboration and Networking:
- Build partnerships with local governments, NGOs, and community organizations to enhance program reach and sustainability.
- Represent the organization in relevant meetings and forums to advocate for livestock-based livelihood initiatives.
- Resource Management:
- Oversee the procurement and distribution of food items and related resources.
- Ensure that resources are used efficiently and transparently.
- Reporting:
- Prepare reports on program activities, outcomes, and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to management on program progress and challenges.
- Accountability
- Adhere to the GNE Code of Conduct and the zero-tolerance policy for Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA). Ensure accountability to affected populations, uphold humanitarian principles, and contribute to the integration of Protection and Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) mainstreaming into GNE programming.
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the line supervisor.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- 4 years working experience in feeding program coordination, particularly in humanitarian settings.
- Strong understanding of nutrition and food security issues, especially in conflict-affected areas.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to challenging environments and work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with NGOs or international organizations.
- Knowledge of local languages and culture.
- Experience working with conflict-affected communities or in humanitarian settings.
- Proficiency in English and Tigrigna
