About Ethiopian Veterinary Association (EVA)
Ethiopian Veterinary Association (EVA) is an autonomous not-for-profit and non-political organization that has been operating in Ethiopia since 1974, with registry number 0495. Its overall objective is to advance the veterinary profession, promote the public interest, and advocate for a quality and competitive livestock industry in Ethiopia. EVA envisions becoming one of the top 5 professional associations in Ethiopia and 10 in Africa by 2026. It possesses extensive experience in policy support, capacity building, partnership, development, and execution of various projects funded by large international organizations such as the European Union, USAID, etc.
Recently, EVA launched the implementation of the EU-funded RESTORE project in 8 Ethiopian Regions to improve livestock health and economic stability of the communities severely affected by natural and man-made crises. The project is a joint venture implemented in partnership with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Regional States, with a broader private sector involvement.
Therefore, we are looking for a dedicated and skilled Property Administration Officer to join our dynamic team and contribute to this transformative initiative.
Project Summary
The RESTORE project is an EU-funded, 4-year comprehensive initiative aimed at revitalizing livestock health and productivity through restoration of animal health facilities, fostering public-private partnerships, and enhancing animal feed production/management within 8 Regional States of Ethiopia. By improving livestock health and productivity, the project aims to significantly contribute to the livelihoods and economic stability of the local communities.
Position Summary
The property administration officer oversees property operations and logistics within the RESTORE project and EVA secretariat office. The position involves managing the receipt, transfer, and inventory of purchased items to ensure efficient logistic operations and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate has a strong background in property management, logistics, and inventory control.
Main duties and responsibilities
Property Management
- Oversee the comprehensive administration and strategic management of project properties.
- Develop and implement effective property management policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular property inspections, ensuring maintenance, safety, and security standards are met.
- Coordinate with external service providers for timely property maintenance and repairs.
Inventory and Asset Management
- Maintain meticulous records of all project assets and properties, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
- Implement efficient asset tagging and tracking systems for optimal asset management.
Procurement and Logistics
- Assist in the procurement process, including preparing specifications, evaluating bids, and coordinating deliveries.
- Support logistical arrangements for the project team, including transportation and resource distribution
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare and maintain detailed property management records and documentation.
- Generate regular reports on property status, inventory levels, and asset utilization for management review.
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for audit purposes.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety and security standards for all properties and facilities.
- Identify potential risks related to property management and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with project team and EVA staff to align property management with project objectives.
Other Duties
- Shall undertake any other duties of EVA as may be assigned by the coordinator, EVA’s CEO, and the Management.
- Reporting Line and Supervision
- The position holder is directly responsible to the project coordinator and shall provide relevant reports to the Admin and Finance Unit and CEO as required.
Position: Property Administration Officer
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Terms of Employment: One year, renewable based on strong performance

About You
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Property Management, Business Administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in property management, property control, logistics, supply chain management, or related areas.
- Experience in property management performance monitoring and reporting is required.
- Experience in IPSAS accounting is desirable
- Good knowledge of computer operations;
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proven experience in project administration;
- Previous experience in property administration, particularly in development projects.
