Solidaridad is an international network organization with over 55 years of experience dedicated to fostering resilient communities and sustainable supply chains worldwide. Solidaridad Ethiopia works to bring together stakeholders in the cotton, textile, leather, and coffee sectors to improve production and transition toward a sustainable and inclusive economy. The organization operates in Ethiopia alongside the government and private sector partners, addressing pressing challenges in agricultural and economic development.
Purpose
The primary objective of this assignment is to produce visual content (videos, high-resolution photos, and case story) that highlights the success stories and lessons learned from the “Gender-Inclusive Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning MEL Systems for Equitable and Transformative Impact” project. The content will be used for internal and external communication to demonstrate the project’s outcomes and facilitate knowledge sharing with stakeholders.
Background
Solidaridad is currently implementing the “Gender-Inclusive Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Systems for Equitable and Transformative Impact” project in Ethiopia. The purpose of the project is to enhance the capacities of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) through gender-sensitive MEL systems. This initiative strengthens the ability of CSOs to engage in effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning practices, ultimately improving their contributions to sustainable development outcomes.
The project seeks to document and communicate key successes and lessons learned through high-quality storytelling (video, case story and photos). This content will be used to highlight the impact of the project, engage key stakeholders, and demonstrate the value of gender-sensitive MEL systems.
Expected Project Outcomes
- Increased Awareness of Project Impact: Videos and photos will highlight the positive outcomes of gender-inclusive MEL systems, showcasing real-life changes for beneficiaries.
- Enhanced Stakeholder Engagement: Success stories will inspire dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders, including CSOs, government, and the private sector.
- Facilitated Knowledge Sharing: Lessons learned will provide valuable insights for stakeholders to replicate and improve similar initiatives.
- Strengthened Advocacy and Communication: High-quality visual content will support advocacy efforts and promote the adoption of gender-sensitive approaches.
Objectives (of the service)
The consultant will be tasked with producing:
- Three (3) short videos (3-5 minutes each) showcasing key success stories from the project. These videos will be in English with subtitles.
- At least 100 high-resolution photos that capture the essence of the project’s impact, focusing on the beneficiaries of the MEL systems, including women, youth, and vulnerable populations.
- Three written articles using powerful quotes from beneficiaries and stakeholders to accompany the photos and videos.
Methodology
- Content Planning: Collaborate with project staff to identify key success stories, beneficiaries, and locations for video and photo documentation.
- Field Visits and Interviews: Conduct on-site visits to capture high-quality visuals and conduct interviews with beneficiaries, stakeholders, and project staff.
- Editing and Production: Develop visually compelling videos and photos, ensuring alignment with Solidaridad’s branding and communication guidelines.
- Feedback and Revisions: Present draft content to Solidaridad for review, incorporating feedback to produce the final deliverables.
Responsibilities of Consultants/Scope of Work
- Collaborate with Solidaridad Ethiopia to identify key stories and locations that best represent the project’s impact.
- Conduct field visits to capture high-quality videos and photos, focusing on project beneficiaries and stakeholders.
- Conduct interviews with beneficiaries, stakeholders, and project staff to extract impactful quotes and narratives.
- Edit and produce three short videos and at least 100 high-resolution photos, ensuring alignment with Solidaridad’s guidelines.
- Submit a final report summarizing the success stories, lessons learned, and recommendations for future communication.
Deliverables
- Three (3) high-quality videos (3-5 minutes each), highlighting interviews and showcasing the success stories of the project. These videos will be in English with subtitles.
- At least 100 high-resolution photos, edited, tagged, and captioned according to Solidaridad’s guidelines.
- Three written articles with powerful quotes from each interviewee ( one per beneficiary).
- Final edited and polished video and photo content ready for dissemination through Solidaridad’s communication channels.
- Final report summarizing the implementation of gender inclusive MEL initiative, key lessons learned, and recommendations for future communication.
About You
Expert/Consultant’s Profile:
The consultant should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor degree in Communication, ICT, Computer Science and related fields
- Outstanding videography and photography skills, including proficiency in video editing and sound design.
- At least six years proven experience in content creation, specifically related to social development projects, capacity-building initiatives, and gender-sensitive MEL systems.
- A strong portfolio of similar success stories or documentaries produced for NGOs or international development organizations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project staff, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to capture the essence of the success stories.
- Ensure you have a renewed business license, tax clearance, and TIN certificate for compliance.

The consultancy firms/companies are required to submit an EOI containing a statement on candidate’s experience with similar assignments, curriculum vitae, financial proposal and work plan. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements described above, those unable to meet the requirement will not be considered.
Each EOI submission should be not more than 10 pages and include the following:
- A brief proposal for the study with methodology and work plan.
- A sample/samples of previous related work.
- A financial proposal with a budget with breakdowns of different costs involved, to the finer detail. Budget with aggregated figures will not be accepted.
- Updated CVs for the team leader and team members (each CV not more than 2 pages).
