 About the Position

GSG Mining Plc is seeking a qualified and committed professional to join its RAM & Supply Chain Department as Resource and Asset Management (RAM) Senior Officer. The position is responsible for the day-to-day management, control and monitoring of mining and exploration assets, equipment’s, spare parts, consumables and warehouses, ensuring that operational assets are properly registered, maintained, safeguarded and readily available to support safe and uninterrupted mining and exploration activities.

 Key Areas of Responsibility

Asset Management & Control

• Register, code and tag all operational assets.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and asset movement records.
• Conduct periodic physical verification and reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitor asset utilization and recommend transfer, repair or disposal.

Equipment Management & Maintenance

• Monitor equipment condition, utilization and availability.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Maintain complete service history and maintenance records.
• Monitor equipment under repair and operational readiness.
• Conduct inspections and recommend corrective actions.
• Spare Parts, Consumables & Warehouse Management
• Prepare annual, six-month and three-month spare parts and consumables plans.
• Maintain minimum and warning stock levels.
• Monitor warehouse inventory, receipts/deliveries, issues and transfers.
• Conduct inventory reconciliation and physical stock counts.
• Identify obsolete, damaged and surplus materials and recommend optimization.

Equipment, Fleet & Vehicle Administration

• Maintain a daily updated register of company equipment, vehicles and mobile assets, including ownership, registration and operational status.
• Coordinate and monitor annual technical inspections of vehicles and applicable equipment, ensuring inspections are completed on time and required certificates are properly documented.
• Monitor vehicle and equipment registration, roadworthiness and other statutory/operational documentation and ensure timely renewal.
• Coordinate third-party and comprehensive insurance renewals for company vehicles and equipment, ensuring policies remain valid without interruption.
• Maintain records of insurance policies, technical inspection certificates, registration documents and renewal dates, and provide timely alerts before expiry.
• Follow up on insurance claims, accident-related documentation and other equipment/vehicle compliance matters in coordination with relevant departments and service providers.
• Monitor vehicle and equipment utilization, availability, repair status and readiness, and recommend corrective actions where required.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on assets, inventory, equipment’s, machineries and vehicle status.
• Support procurement planning and maintenance planning.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and support audits.
• Maintain accurate documentation and recommend improvements.

Assets Covered by the Role

• Mining and mineral processing equipment’s, including gold washing plants and processing systems.
• Heavy mining equipment/machineries, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders and support equipment.
• Exploration and drilling equipment, geological and survey equipment.
• Mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, generators, compressors, hydraulic systems and workshop equipment.
• Operational fleet, fuel handling equipment, warehouses, spare parts, consumables and maintenance materials.

Key Performance Expectations

Performance will be assessed against the company’s RAM KPIs, including asset registration and verification, inventory accuracy (≥98%), stock monitoring, spare-parts planning, preventive maintenance compliance (≥95%), maintenance record completeness, equipment readiness and repair follow-up, timely reporting, and compliance/audit support (≥98%).

 Working Relationships

The role works closely with Operations, Exploration, Maintenance, Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse and Finance, as well as Site Managers, Supervisors and Workshop personnel. The position also coordinates with equipment suppliers and service providers to support timely procurement, maintenance and repair of equipment, spare parts and consumables.

Candidate Profile

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Asset Management or a closely related field.
• Master’s Degree and/or professional certifications are an advantage.
• Specialized training in heavy equipment maintenance, fleet/asset management, procurement and supply chain or mining operations is an advantage.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in mining, construction, heavy equipment, manufacturing or another asset-intensive industry.
• Proven experience in equipment/fleet management, maintenance, inventory and alternatively procurement, supply chain and logistics.
• Demonstrated experience managing heavy equipment such as excavators, dump trucks, dozers, loaders, generators, pumps and processing/washing plants.
• Strong experience in spare-parts planning and inventory control.
• Experience in asset lifecycle management, CAPEX/OPEX budgeting and equipment cost analysis.
• Experience with ERP, CMMS, fleet-management or asset-management systems is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting remote mining or construction sites is an advantage.
