Job Description
Sentinel Steel PLC was established in December 2013 with the purpose of setting up a hot rolling steel manufacturing plant in Ethiopia. It’s manufacturing facility is located in Bishoftu, Oromia State, Ethiopia. The company’s rebar manufacturing facility is intended to serve the burgeoning demand for quality steel in the local construction sector having a steel plant with an initial installed hot rolling capacity of 120,000 – 150,000 metric tons per annum (tpa).
Currently, the manufacturing facility is looking for qualified and ambitious Senior Mechanic for its Manufacturing plant as per the following description:
Summary of the Job
- Ensure the Standard and proper Quality of Finished Good Rebar, Bundle and stockpiling of Finished Good considering its origin, grade, Heat number and length
- The Finished Good Quality in Charge is responsible for controlling the quality of the product between RM and Dispatch and all activities of the Quality Assurance work unit in order to provide customers best quality products which conform the company standards.
Detail duties and responsibilities
- Check Quality of Rebars Start from Cooling Bed up to Finished Good Yard (Controlling Off Cuts, Chili, Piping, Rejected Rebars and Rebar Bundling)
- Ensure the proper stockpiling of Finished Good considering its Rebar Size
- Finalize and maintain the accuracy of Finished Goods inventory, Plan the location of the delivered Finished Goods, Check the physical conformance (e.g., Chili, Piping and Rejected Rebars Before Bundling) of the delivered Finished Good
- Controls all factors affecting the quality of Finished Good before passing to the Dispatch
- Responds to quality complaints from the end users of within the company,
- Performs other duties related to quality assurance activities as needed.
Job Requirements
Education and experience
- Diploma or certificate in metallurgy and related discipline from recognized college or TVET with 4 or 6 years of relevant work experience respectively.
Language Skill
- English and Amharic and or Afan Oromo,
