Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the company.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, journals, and accounting schedules.
  • Review and verify financial transactions, invoices, receipts, payment requests, and supporting documents.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash and bank transactions.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable and ensure timely follow-up and settlement.
  • Prepare and review tax-related documents and ensure compliance with applicable Ethiopian tax requirements.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial analyses.
  • Monitor company expenses and ensure proper authorization and documentation.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting and financial records.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, banks, government authorities, and other relevant stakeholders when required.
  • Support management by providing accurate financial information and analysis for decision-making.
  • Monitor and reconcile inventory, purchases, sales, and other business transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, accounting procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.

About You

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • BA Degree in Accounting and Finance or a closely related field.
  • 4–5 years of directly relevant professional experience in accounting and finance.
  • Practical experience in financial reporting, general ledger, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, taxation, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in a trading, import/export, manufacturing, or similar business environment is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Ethiopian accounting and tax requirements.
  • Experience with accounting software/ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
