Qualifications/Skills and Experience

•  BSc Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and other related fields plus minimum of 8 years relevant experience out of which 1 year successful leadership in database implementation and monitoring. Additionally, it requires a strong hands-on/ technical knowledge on database design, data structures, computer programming, algorithms and operating systems.

Key responsibilities:

•   Designing and developing database architecture using various structured and unstructured data types such as text, images, audio or video files.

•  Developing and maintaining database security protocols to ensure that data is not compromised by unauthorized users.

•  Designing and implementing data storage structures such as tables and indexes to improve performance of database applications

•   Monitoring database performance to identify problems that require intervention by database specialists

•   Design, build data models to support structured and unstructured data.

•   Design, build and deploy scalable high-volume data pipelines to move data across systems.

•   Build centralized data lake, data warehouse and visualizations that support multiple use cases across different products.

• Build and manage Data Guard Physical/Logical Standby Databases using Data Guard Broker

•  Design and develop software and data solutions that help business team to make data-driven          decisions.

• Experience in data warehouse space.

•  Experience in custom ETL/ELT design, patterns for efficient data integration.

•  Query writing (SQL & NoSQL), schema design, normalized data model and dimensional model.

•  Analyzing large volumes of data to provide data driven insights and gaps.

• Create high available databases and build automatic backups.

•  Support automated deployment and operation of MySQL and Oracle instances in a high-availability environment

•  Optimize and tune database schemas, stored procedures, triggers, and dynamic queries

•    Build data pipelines for data analytics.

•  Document technical designs and program logic

•  Participate in functional and technical reviews

Knowledge & Skills required:

•  Strong hands-on/ technical knowledge on database management skills including but not limited to creating, monitoring, and tuning of oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
•   Strong experience in configuring, patching, upgrading, and optimizing database software and related products.

•  Strong experience in security, backup/recovery, replication, architecture, networking, and administration for database disciplines.

•  Participates and/or assists the team in the development, maintenance, testing, implementation, and support of assigned database technologies and associated software products.

•   Proactively monitor and troubleshoot database issues escalated by the business team and internal monitoring in a timely manner with strong skills to drive to root cause and remediation of issues.

• Strong understanding with the creation and implementation of data definition language (DDL) to support development efforts.

•  Intermediate to strong performance and tuning skills with the ability to identify, respond and resolve database performance issues; communicates database performance resolution to technical teams.

•  Strong documentation skills to contribute to the information technology processes and procedures.
•   Experience in IT Project Management.
