BACKGROUND:

The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) is a strategy and delivery-oriented government institute created to help accelerate the growth and transformation of the country’s agriculture sector. The ATI envisions that, by 2025, smallholder farmers are commercialized with greater incomes, inclusiveness, resilience and sustainability, contributing to Ethiopia’s achievement of middle-income country status.

The agency focuses on two primary national approaches to catalyse agricultural transformation. First, we support the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Resources (MoA), its affiliate institutions, and other partners to identify and address systemic bottlenecks within an Agricultural Transformation Agenda. Second, we support Regional Governments to accelerate development of high-priority commodity value chains in clearly defined geographic clusters, through the Agricultural Commercialization Clusters (ACC) Initiative.

Our major activities include conducting strategic and analytical studies, providing technical implementation support, coordinating platforms to better integrate partners and projects, and designing and directly leading number of implementation projects. Our headquarters are in Addis Ababa, and we have regional offices in Amhara, Oromia, SNNP, and Tigray regional offices, allowing us to work closely with a wide range of public, private and development sector partners across the country.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Office maintenance technician is an individual who is responsible for repairing damages and also responsible for making improvements in the place where the repair work is being carried out. The work of a Flying Technician/Office maintenance technician involves a lot of walking around the workplace in order to keep everything well maintained. He/she has to deal with the -the ATA team and be able to solve problems when identified in c cooperative matter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Evaluate, repair, and maintain plumbing, electrical, and sewage systems in the building.
• Communicate with facilities flying technicians about any work that requires outside expert assistance.
• Receive and respond to tenant reports of mechanical or maintenance issues on the building.
• Maintain corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control regulations.
• Maintain fire extinguisher, smoke, and other safety systems within the structure.
• Calibrate instruments and tools required for job responsibilities.
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
• Serve as a main technical focal point for activities related to plumbing works, pipeline network installation and managing day-to-day water system operation, and leakage maintenance at each point of the system.
• Keep records of fuel consumption, generator working hours, and electro-mechanical equipment performance indicators during the operation and maintenance phase and report
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, aesthesis, curtain, and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
• Maintain bathing room sink and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Inspect alarm systems, fire extinguishers and schedule repairs when needed.
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.)
• Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.)

• Minimum of Diploma in Electricity/Plumber/ fitting/Office maintenance and other related fields
• Four years of relevant experience in office maintenance/electrical installation/maintaining office furniture/workstations/fitting and equipment in commercial buildings/high-rise structures with modern building features and facilities.
• Could have a sharp mind that is always alert, able to respond to situations requiring urgent attention, and demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician.
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumber experience with private or other organization
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work out of office hour
• Work closely with logistic team and try to stop problems at the earliest
• Good   computer and English communication skill
