Juniper Glass is strategically located in Debra Birhan serving customers in Ethiopia and East & Central Africa with a wide variety of glass containers.

The Stores & Warehouse function provides inventory and warehousing management services to the business. The Stores & Warehousing Manager has the overall responsibility of managing the Stores and Warehouse, ensuring optimum stock holding levels for efficient operations and proper management of finished goods. The job holder works closely with the Finance team, Operations team, Sales & marketing team, suppliers and other stakeholders to implement best practice.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1.      To continually review stocking of production, engineering & other materials with a view to maintaining optimum stocks and hence reduce overall stock holding costs without compromising on production, maintenance and sales delivery.

2.      To ensure proper control and management of finished goods.

3.      Deliver on the governance & compliance agenda in order to safeguard the reputation and avoid preventable losses.

4.      Controlling and ensuring that Juniper as a company has secure and enough stocks to support production in order to avoid plant stoppages that can lead to profit and market loss.

5.      Monitoring of re-order levels for all company stocks.

6.      Ensure Perfect stock records are maintained across all stock categories on site and in external warehouses and storage

7.      Ensure timely availability of production materials, engineering spares and utilities as per agreed schedules.

8.      Proactively manage stocks to minimize slow moving stocks and stock obsolescence that would require write off.

9.      Support the business in cost cutting initiatives.

10.  To ensure proper control and management of finished products.

11.  Responsible for planning and coordination of annual stock take and periodic stock takes.

12.  To improve service level to internal and external customers.

13.  Implement control assurance and risk management as part of risk management process.

14.  Ensure compliance with safety requirements at the work environment.

Leadership Responsibilities

The role is responsible for the leadership and direction of the Stores team. 3 staff members report into this position. The job holder is required to coach and train this team.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • BA in commerce, Economics, Business Administration or BSc in Engineering or related fields.
  • For for Commerce minimum 6 years’ relevant work experience in manufacturing companies.
  • For Engineering minimum 4 years’ relevant work experience in manufacturing companies.
