About Us

Oromia Private Schools Association (OPSA) was established in 2012 by 97 private and non-government school owners to collaborate with governmental and non-governmental bodies to ensure high-quality, scientific, and research-based education within the region. OPSA was re-registered with the Bureau of Attorney General of Oromia in 2025 under Section 87(2) of Law No. 254/2024. It was established to strengthen and improve private educational institutions by addressing observed deficiencies in private schools and mitigating external pressures. Currently, the association has attracted more than 1000 members.

As part of its institutional strengthening and digital transformation efforts, OPSA has established a comprehensive, secure, and scalable software system to effectively manage information related to its members, governance structures, activities, resource allocation, financial management, communications, and reporting requirements.

Currently, OPSA is seeking highly qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: System Administrator and Technical Support Officer

Required number: 1

Salary: Negotiable

Place of Work: Addis Ababa (Head Office)

Duration of Employment: Permanent after probation period.

Job Summary

The System Administrator and Technical Support Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance, manage servers and databases, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth operation of deployed applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level and second-level technical support to clients.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, backups, and security settings.
  • Perform software updates and system maintenance.
  • Support database administration and backup procedures.
  • Assist clients through phone, email, remote access, and on-site visits.
  • Document issues and maintain support records.
  • Train end users on software usage and best practices.
  • Coordinate with developers to resolve bugs and enhancement requests.
  • Ensure system availability, reliability, and data security.
  • Coordinate schools membership process
  • Communicate and provide necessary information for schools
  • Cascade other duties
About You

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Required Skills

  • Strong digital and computer skills.
  • Basic understanding of Linux and Windows server administration.
  • Familiarity with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and system troubleshooting.
  • Experience with remote support tools and office productivity software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and solve technical problems effectively.
