Job Summary 

Samaritan’s Purse’s (SP) food assistance programs, funded by the World Food Program (WFP), distributes monthly rations to targeted households and individuals in Mekelle and Northwestern Zones of Tigray region. With a direct support of the Distribution Officer the GFD Verifier is responsible for verifying beneficiaries against beneficiary lists provided by WFP on PIT/SCOPE database according to the parameters established by WFP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a beneficiary registration database of all households’ information collected at the distribution site according to Samaritan’s Purse and WFP’s key indicators
  • Analyze the database for households registered twice and inform the GFD Officer of the woreda for their attention.
  • Take the lead on preparation and posting of updated beneficiary lists for food assistances in their respective woredas.
  • Ensure that data of beneficiaries are entered on PIT/SCOPE for each of the household according to the agreed format.
  • Scan QR codes of beneficiaries during the actual food distribution and report daily distributed amount per HH sizes to the distribution officer.
  • Anticipate problems and troubleshoot solutions to ensure the analysis is comprehensive.
  • Submit analysis reports to GFD Program coordinator according to the agreed schedule in collaboration with the Program officer.
  • Liaise with WFP Data Program Officers to ensure the database is meeting WFP’s data registration needs
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative information to M&E coordinator, program coordinators and warehouse coordinator to the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports as well as CPDRs.
  • Performing all other tasks and responsibilities as requested by the GFD Program Manager with a generous and serving spirit

 

About You

Education / Experience Needed

  • Highschool completion certificate. (Degree in Business administration, Management, information technology and related fields preferred.)
  • A minimum of 1-year previous experience working with NGOs and the UN in information technology or administration strongly desired.
  • Experience working with Samaritan’s Purse on actual food distribution works is an asset.

 LANGUAGE 

•            Fluency in Amharic and Tigrigna is required; working knowledge of English required.
