About the Job
NEP+ is a National Network of eleven regional networks, two national associations and one specialized women network. NEP+ is one of the principal recipients of Global Fund in Ethiopia. The mission of NEP+ is to lead, coordinate the contribution of PLHIV in the national response to networking partnership, capacity building, resource mobilization and relaying the voices of PLHVs at all levels. NEP+ wants to recruit qualified candidate for the following position
I. Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete record in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or IPSAS (under transition) and NEP+ Accounting and Financial Policies and Procedures. He/she also monitors the accuracy and completeness of member organization reports.
II. Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Provides technical support and training to the Accountant;
- Assists member accountants to comply with financial management policies and procedures of NEP+;
- Ensures monthly payroll for all staff are prepared according to policies and procedures of NEP+;
- Ensures the timely settlement of payroll tax, staff provident fund and other obligations;
- Ensures that all unused official documents and vouchers of the organization are properly registered and are available in sufficient quantity;
- Verifies and ensures the required documentation and authorization is presented before effecting payments and encoding data into the system;
- Ensures that planned activities are carried out in line with the approved annual plan and budget ;
- Prepare budget & Expenditure reports to donors
- Processes payments which involve ensuring all payments are adequately supported by appropriate documentation;
- Ensures that the necessary format and documentation is used before and after payment is effected;
- Ensures all suppliers invoices and bills are paid on a timely basis;
- Enters all financial data into the computer/accounting system;
- Ensures tax and other liabilities are paid out to the relevant authorities on time;
- Prepares journal entries for, transfers, correction and adjustments;
- Reconciles bank statements with books of accounts;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

About You
Qualifications:
Education/Training
- BA in Accounting or related field (Commerce, Cooperative Accounting & Finance).

Experience
- 4 years job relevant experience as an accountant/senior finance officer preferably in humanitarian aid organization/NGO
- Knowledge & Experience of donor reporting (more preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles & procedures
Technical and Other Skills
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Well organized and ability to act in a professional and ethical manner;
- Competency in computer applications;
- Knowledge of accounting software (Peachtree & Others)
- Experience in a busy organization
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Good knowledge and practice of IPSAS
- Good knowledge of tax rules and regulations
