Background:
Mercy Corps is one of the leading global organization operating in more than 40 countries. Mercy Corps employs a community-led, market-driven approach as it works with partners at the community, government, private, and research institution levels programs in the regions of Somali, Oromiya, SNNP, Dire Dawa and Addis Ababa.
LIWAY is a development programme funded by the Swedish Embassy in Ethiopia and implemented by a consortium including SNV, Mercy Corps, Save the Children International, and Technoserve. It intends to sustainably increase incomes for 200,000 young people and women in Addis Ababa. A significant barrier to the engagement of women in labour markets is the absence of affordable childcare, particularly for children aged 0-3 years.
Purpose
The purpose of this call for proposal is to solicit proposals for two categories
- Private child care provision
- Training providers for Nannies
From established potential private day care centers and nanny training providers that want to expand their current services by developing a business model that cater for the need of low income women, who could afford to pay a reasonable price. This childcare and nanny training center expansion will allow the existing businesses to broaden their current client portfolio by adding a new segment of service users for implementing activities under the LI-WAY program.
Job Requirements
Eligible Applicants:
- Already formally registered operational day care and nanny training centers that are licensed to operate in Addis Ababa.
N.B: One business can only submit proposal for either day care or nanny training and not both.
As this is a highly competitive process, proposal submission does not guarantee an award.
