About the Organization
Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is an Ethiopian non-profit organization established in 2020 with a mission of striving to meet the humanitarian and developmental needs of societies regardless of race, color, religion or cultural background. We are legally registered to work in Ethiopia (Reg. 5164) as National NGO and as INGO in South Sudan (Reg. 4178), Somalia (Reg. NGOD/Moifar0422/022) and Kenya (OP.218/051/22-400/12732); it is also processing its registration in Yemen. We are currently seeking an experienced Case Worker to join our mission-driven organization.
Job Purpose
The Case worker reports to the Regional Coordinator and he/she serving as a liaison between disadvantages people and the organization through assessing and compiling cases and case reports by incorporating relevant information for providing the required support.
Key responsibilities
- Interviewing clients to assess their situational needs
- Determining which services and assistance are necessary
- Providing support, guidance, and counsel to families in need
- Monitoring visits between at-risk or fragile children and family members
- Motivating individuals to participate in rehabilitation programs
- Filing, maintaining and updating case history reports
- Serving as a liaison between the client and social, financial, health and legal services
- Developing a plan of action to improve the client’s well-being
- Planning regular follow-ups to assess progress and additional needs
- Reviewing and modifying plans as circumstances change for the individual
- Works with families to develop a safe and healthy environment
- Discusses personal issues with troubled family members like money management, personal relationships, etc

Min. Education
- BA in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or other related fields
Experiences
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in a similar position, NGO Experience is Preferable
- Experience with supervision roles for tasks of a similar nature to this assignment
- Proven experience in project management, budgeting and record keeping
