About Positive Action for Development (PAD) is an Indigenous, non-governmental, non-profit; secular and legally registered Ethiopian Civil Society Organization with a registration number 2330. PAD has more than 12 years of experience in providing services in humanitarian and development sector. PAD has active operational presences in almost all parts of Ethiopia. In addition to this PAD is an active member of a Consortium, clusters and platforms with wider reach in the country

Main Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Programs Manager, the Center Head will be responsible for other assignments assigned to him by the Dire Dawa project manager of the organization.

Specific responsibilities include the following

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of a support center for survivors of human trafficking.
  • Manages a team of support staff and volunteers, coordinates outreach and awareness campaigns, and develops partnerships with other organizations working in the anti-trafficking field.
  • Maintaining accurate client records, tracking program outcomes, and reporting to funders and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with law enforcement, shelters, and other organizations to ensure victims receive immediate assistance and protection.
  • Assist victims in accessing legal services, healthcare, and other resources.
  • Work diligently to ensure the safety and privacy of victims at all times.
  • Must be compassionate, organized, and culturally sensitive, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations.

Job Requirements

Qualification:  Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.

Experience: A minimum of two to five years of Proven experience working with victims of trafficking or in a similar field.

Skills Required, Attitudes, and Attributes:

  •  Ability and willingness to live and work in harsh and difficult physical conditions in an area of potential insecurity.
  • Willingness and capacity to be flexible when faced with difficult working
  • Flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate.
  • Respect culture, and believe in a diverse ethnic and traditional setup.
  • Experience facilitating relationships between Nongovernmental organizations and government.
  • Ability to work well within a team and take responsibility to deliver results.
  • Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Able to operate independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in NGO with expertise.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Amharic, and knowledge of the local language is an advantage.
