The Special Initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition.” seeks to generate more high-quality jobs and foster new business opportunities, especially for women and the youth. In Ethiopia, the initiative enhances conditions for European and African investors, fosters small and medium enterprises, and improves business ecosystems in selected economic SME clusters.

Responsibilities and Duties
A. Responsibilities
- Communicative and graphic processing of specialized and empirical knowledge from the project in accordance with the existing communication concept.
- Develop content and visuals on the Special Initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition” programme in Ethiopia international and local social media accounts.
- Create relevant articles, stories, and publications, highlighting the programme and prominently featuring success stories.
- Produce stories including interviews, articles, photo-essays, in English and Amharic.
Required qualifications, competencies, and experience
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in media and communications, public relations, international relations, journalism, or another relevant subject is required.
- In lieu, a bachelor’s degree in combination with additional years of qualifying experience is accepted.
Professional experience
- 4 years of professional experience in the field of media and public relations.
- Professional experience in the graphic preparation of communication products, knowledge of Adobe InDesign
- 2 years of professional experience in international cooperation
- Proven experience in supporting Project Management with the planning, documentation of results, progress report, etc.
Other knowledge, additional competencies
- Proven track record of the coordination/facilitation of cooperation with the private sector and good knowledge of formats to cooperate with the private sector.
- Knowledge of managing cooperation and implementation agreements with the private sector, ideally within the develoPPP.de programme
- Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex issues to both technical and nontechnical audiences in English.
