About the project Transformative Land Investment (TLI)

TLI Project aims to contribute to a more responsible land-based investments contributing to a more sustainable food systems, with gender-sensitive and socially inclusive improvements in land tenure security, livelihoods, resilience, and ecosystem health, through capacity strengthening and catalyzing partnerships. in its quest to contribute to Responsible Land Based Investments, TLI will work with big land-based investments to capacitate their interventions in making their investments responsible.

Job Requirements

Interested consultant is expected to meet the following requirements:

  • PhD/Masters in Land administration/Governance, Agricultural Economics, Rural development, international development and other related social fields

  • Demonstrated experience and track record on working with private sector investments and local actors (small holder farmers, community leaders, various stakeholders of various interests),

  • Experience in quality data collection, and various survey tools including applications like survey CTO,

  • Good understanding of Ethiopia’s land sector and customary land governance systems and land investment systems,

  • Preferably Good understanding of responsible land-based investment standards such as the Voluntary Guidelines on Responsible Governance of Tenure (VGGT), and the Principles of Responsible Agriculture Investments (RAI),

  • Ability to mobilize and organize a professional team like data collectors/enumerators, community discussion facilitators and note/minute takers including survey tools and instruments

  • Ability to mobilize (and provide evidence) of a team of enumerators and facilitators with language proficiency  written & spoken in English, and knowledge of local languages (Amharic, Afaan Oromo and Sidamiffaa)

  • Adhering to SNV policies, principles and core values including ethical standards, code of conduct and safeguarding
