Job Description

The Finance and Accounting /HR head is responsible for overseeing the financial and HR activities of the company. The Head of Finance is accountable for accurate reporting of financial results and managing the company’s financial affairs and establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. Human Resource responsibilities include managing different aspects of the employment process, orientation and training of new staff and overseeing general staff well-being, while maintaining company culture.

Responsibilities: Finance

  • Managing the financial reporting for the organization. This includes monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly payroll.
  • Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the management to make critical business decisions.
  • Presentation of financial results and insights to management.
  • Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organization and liaising with the ERCA for specialist advice
  • Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organization is compliant with accounting standards.
  • Managing relationships with Clients
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial, and
  • Management Accounting functions.
  • Advising and implementing best practice methods.
  • Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
  • Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Train finance and non-finance staff on financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Daily review of payment documents in accordance with the existing operating guidelines
  • Overall responsibility for recording accounting transactions, monitoring cash inflow and outflow, and budget controlling.
  • Review payment requests to verify all the necessary supporting documents have been attached.
  • Ensure that all cash operation procedures and internal controls are strictly followed.
  • Ensure that the established control systems for assets acquisition, handling, and utilization are consistently applied.

Responsibilities: HR

  • Ensure an appropriate system of confidential personnel files.
  • Organize training and coaching.
  • Recruitment, training, mentoring, and development of staff.
  • Follow company procedures with respect to recruitment, dismissal, compensation & benefits, employment conditions.
  • Reviewing all formal HR policies and procedures

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-year experience as finance head
  • Proven 2 years experience in human resources.
  • Minimum first degree in accounting and office management/ business administration or related field preferred.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Solid understanding of financial management and accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting software
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of recruitment procedures
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and regulations
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills
  • General knowledge of HR practices and procedures
  • Conflict management skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Problem–solving.
  • Effective leadership qualities
  • Project completion ability
