About Wako Gutu Foundation (WGF): The Wako Gutu Foundation (WGF) is a non-political, non-religious, non-racial, and non-profit-making development organization established in 2006 in Ethiopia. WGF was founded by a professional network of volunteers dedicated to bringing enduring change to the livelihoods of marginalized pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities in remote areas of the country. WGF implements projects in the fields of social and economic development, humanitarian emergency response, and peacebuilding and social reconciliation, particularly in the Oromia and Somali Regional States .
About the PURPLE Project: The Peaceful Understanding and Reconciliation for Pastoralists Livelihood Enhancement (PURPLE) project aims to foster peace and reconciliation among pastoralist communities while enhancing their livelihoods. The project focuses on conflict resolution, capacity building, and sustainable development practices. By working closely with local communities and partners, PURPLE seeks to create a harmonious environment where pastoralists can thrive economically and socially. The project is implemented in collaboration with PAPDA, GLOBAL ONE, and RIRA, APDA with WGF serving as the lead partner.
Position Overview: The Wako Gutu Foundation (WGF) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager for Grants Management and Resource Mobilization to join our team. This role is crucial for the successful implementation of the PURPLE project. As the lead partner, WGF collaborates with PAPDA, GLOBAL ONE, APDA and RIRA to enhance the livelihoods of pastoralist communities through peaceful understanding and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive grants management and resource mobilization strategy.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities from various sources including governments, foundations, and private donors.
• Manage the entire grant lifecycle, from proposal development to reporting and compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the grants management team.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors and partners.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resource mobilization efforts.
Position Details:
• Duration: One-year contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
• Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
• Reports to: Executive Director
• Location: WGF Head Office, Finfinnee (with travel as required)
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance).
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in grants management and resource mobilization.
• Proven track record of successful grant writing and fundraising.
• Strong understanding of donor requirements and compliance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grants management software.
• Experience working with international NGOs and donor agencies is an advantage.
