The Role

We are looking for a commercially minded and hands-on Head of Finance to lead our finance function. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to senior management, and you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial management — from day-to-day operations and compliance through to strategic planning and business performance. You will also directly line- manage our finance team.

Contract Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading, managing, and developing the finance team, including oversight of finance support staff
  • Owning the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Preparing management accounts, financial reports, and board-level financial summaries
  • Developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
  • Ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax and audit
  • Managing relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow management
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial systems, controls, and processes — including ERP management
  • Providing strategic financial insight and analysis to support business decision-making
  • Partnering with senior leadership on commercial strategy, investment decisions, and growth planning

Reporting Line

This position reports directly to senior management and carries full responsibility for the leadership of the finance function.

About You

Skills & Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2–4 years in a senior leadership or management role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing full financial operations
  • Demonstrable experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Proven ability to independently prepare the following financial reports: Statement of Financial Position, Profit or Loss & Other Comprehensive Income (OCI), Cash Flow Statement, Statement of Changes in Equity, Debtors & Creditors Ageing Reports, Coffee Inventory Report, Cash Budget, and Bank Reconciliation Statement
  • Hands-on experience using Odoo ERP system; familiarity with other similar ERP platforms (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, QuickBooks) is an advantage
  • Experience in FMCG, inventory management, or supply chain finance
  • Excellent analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of financial regulations, tax, and compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills

Desirable:

  • Background in a fast-growing or entrepreneurial business environment
  • Experience implementing or improving ERP and financial systems
