About The Organization

Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is an Ethiopian non-profit organization established in 2020 with a mission of striving to meet the humanitarian and developmental needs of societies regardless of race, color, religion or cultural background. We are legally registered to work in Ethiopia (Reg. 5164) as National NGO and as INGO in South Sudan (Reg. 4178), Somalia (Reg. NGOD/Moifar0422/022) and Kenya (OP.218/051/22-400/12732); it is also processing its registration in Yemen. We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our mission-driven organization.

Job Summary:

The Health Project Manager will be expected to lead on multi-sectoral / health assessments, project planning, coordination, based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to the field office. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the health program, ensuring compliance with regulations and monitoring of health projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-sectoral / health assessments in coordination with other external health agencies, ensuring assessment findings are documented,
  • Conducting continuous capacity assessment of health workers and arrange capacity development plan
  • Manage the health program staff
  • Organize and Lead health services in Refugee camps
  • Assess, identify gaps, engage in resource mobilization, prepare health program, and budget plan to deliver intended quality services as per the standard,
  • Integrate health services of refugee camp to national health system
  • Establish and maintain workable referral linkages which enables to provide secondary and tertiary health care services in national health system,
  • Provide education about medication, conditions, and care instructions,
  • Able to develop project plans, budgets, and development of high quality concept notes and proposals,
  • Prepare and oversee project implementation to ensure timely delivery of project activities,
  • prepare timely program and donor reports on project activities in compliance with relevant donor requirements,
  • Assist with exploring resources to help secure funding for medical care,
  • Work with patients and their families to discuss health problems,
  • With support from the MEAL team put in place an M & E plan for the project,
  • Support MEAL in putting accountability mechanisms in place for Health components of projects, ensuring that feedback is responded to in a timely manner,
  • To ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Sphere Charter and Red Cross Code of Conduct,
  • Making sure integration with other sectors, especially looking to strengthen the links between health programs and nutrition, WASH , Protection and shelter,
  • Work with the community, hospital, or clinic setting to make processes smooth and streamlined,
  • Consult and work with other health care providers to schedule appointments and treatment plans,
  • Comply with guidelines and healthcare laws, and donor requirements.

Job Requirements

Qualification & Requirement:

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) MD or related filed of studies, with minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar position
  • Strong budget Management skills.
  •  Experience in working with Refugee health system ,
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to and understanding of the mission and values of DPO.
  • Experience working with multi-partner projects highly desirable,
