Job Description
- Preparing job descriptions, advertising vacant positions, and managing the employment process.
- Ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.
- Proper handling of incoming and outgoing letters of the organization.
- Handling complaints and disciplinary procedures.
- Advising managers and staff on different HR policies and procedures.
- Nurture a positive working environment; overseeing and managing a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
- Ensure the HR on boarding/off boarding protocols of the organization are followed.
- Provide timely update of any staff changes such as employment, promotion, resignation, transfer etc.
- Provide timely update on the recruitment status and circulate the information to the relevant departments.
- Ensure that all new staffs have office equipment, organizational ID cards and other required materials.
- Ensure proper handover of materials and documents from staff terminated/resigned
- Assist the administration and procurement as well as logistics activities of NALA Ethiopia office.
- Keep record of employees’ annual leave.
- Managing employees’ medical insurance with the insurance company
- Overseeing the health and safety of all employees.
- Be adaptable and flexible to take new tasks and new assignments by immediate supervisor.
Report to: Director of Finance and Administration
Employment Duration: One year with possibility of extension.
Job Requirements
- Has strong analytical skills. Thinks and acts strategically and ensures that activities are prioritized and aligned within an agreed strategy.
- Has strong leadership and mediation skills. Able to mentor, problem solve and lead.
- Knowledge of employment legislation and labor law of the country.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Communicates clearly and works effectively with a wide range of people to reach common understanding.
- Able to juggle multiple activities at the same time.
- Knowledge about Accounting and Finance
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in human resources.
- Additional training/certification may be advantageous.
- Exposure to Accounting and Finance may be advantageous
- Computer literate.
- Experience communicating with remote and international teams including using file sharing (drop box/google drive/jumbo mail etc.), voice over IP applications (WhatsApp, Viber, Skype etc.)
