Ethiopian National Association of the Blind (ENAB) is the first Organization for Peoples with disabilities in Ethiopia. Since its establishment, ENAB works 65 years for the realization of the right for people with Visual impairments. ENAB is collaborating and networking with many local and international organizations towards this objective.

The ENAB wants to hire competent applicant on the following vacant position.

Job title: ICT and communication officer (Senior project officer)

Number: 1(one)

Salary: salary 34,476.00, communication 2,000.00 and transport 2,000.00

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Enable continuous operation of ICT infrastructure and accessibility to ICT services and solutions:

  • Ensure physical security and safety of ICT environment and infrastructure.
  • Implement corporate solutions, services and keep systems and applications up and running.
  • Manage changes and apply upgrades, security updates and patches.
  • Conduct or supervise the provision of preventive and corrective maintenance on the Association ICT equipment.
  • Monitor, assess and verify the use of ICT resources to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinating activities of the association related with information, communication and technology
  • Adding value of ICT expert on every activity of the association
  • implementation and dissemination of results from ENAB’s projects/programs with external partners, including donors through digitalized formats.
  • Working for the realization of access to information of visually impaired persons
  • Servicing and maintaining equipment and devices related with information, communication and technology
  • Enhancing communication of the staff internally and externally
  • Keeping proper records of events and increase their visibility
  • Modernizing documentation of the association in collaboration with stakeholders and partners

Provide help, support and assist with capacity building and knowledge management:

  • Provide maintenance and services of Embosser machines.
  • Provide technical and operational support to end-users.
  • Assist in the purchasing of ICT and related equipment and services.
  • Coordinating and managing the digital studio of the association
  • Provide ICT-Support to project staff working on planning, reporting,
  • Enhancing the social media engagement of the association
  • Working to increase accessibility of information of the association and public information including: website accessibility, digital file and telegram channels.
  • Offer or coordinate Basic ICT training and workshops for members and needy staffs.
  • Manage the website, telegram channels and YouTube of the association.
  • Upgrade the website and update the website with recent news and information.
  • Create virtual meeting and communication platforms (zoom, webinar, skype, WhatsApp, telegram etc) for conducting different online meetings
About You

Required educational and work experience

  • Minimum of BSC degree more preferably MSC degree Graduated in Information and communication technology, Computer science, Software engineering or Other highly related fields only
  • Relevant work experience in information, communication and technology, at least 7 years work experience of BSC degree or 5 years work experience in MSC degree

Required competence and skills

  • Ability to record and edit audio and video
  • Ability to manage social medias including channels, pages, online
  • streaming, YouTube, Facebook
  • Ability to manage website with little or minimal training
  • Ability to fix hardware and software problems related with technology communication such as internet lines, desktop computers, laptops,
  • Ability to prepare documentary films.
  • Ability to manage files in soft copy with different formats, clouds e.t.c
  • Good skill in English and Amharic language
  • Good skill in communication
