Short Description of the Position:
Shayashone (SYS) is an emerging business engaged in agribusiness advisory/consultancy services, manufacturing and commercialization of social impact products. The company is currently manufacturing and commercializing PICS hermetic storage bags, Nazava water filters.
The company has recently added import and export in its portfolio. For that we are looking for young, energetic and passionate Ethiopian to join our import and export team. S/he will be travelling in different place within the country.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Permanent market monitoring, Collecting information locally and abroad and Constituting and maintaining network of contacts
- Follow up with buyers/Suppliers with updated shipment information and availability
- Organize and follow all shipments by air, sea and road freight to ensure goods are promptly dispatched and tracked through to delivery into the Customer.
- Create quotations for import/export, consolidating shipments where possible to achieve best price and service.
- Communicate directly with buyers and suppliers to negotiate prices and shipping schedules.
- Perform audit on all import and export files on regular basis.
- Follow-up on any booking-in discrepancies with Buyers and supplier
- Check supplier documentation is correct for each shipment. Including pre-advices
- Resolve issues during the shipping period, communicating any delays to the relevant departments
- Actively identifying opportunities to reduce transport cost and improve margins
- Maintain awareness of customs compliance updates and company awareness on topical logistics issues.
- Acting as the logistics way-finder by working closely with heads of department on logistic projects.
- Support the wholesale team in customs compliance on outbound good.
- Build strong internal and external working relationships with our team, suppliers, freight forwarders and Customer.
- Ability to confidently negotiate rates with freight forwarders to get the best price and service for the business
- Proactively work on identifying improvement opportunities and effectively implement any changes to the logistics processes to achieve the best execution.

Technical Competencies:
- Profound understanding of agricultural export sector from Ethiopian.
- Proven track record in import and export sector including evidence of engagement in sourcing, logistics and custom management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint package.
Education, Work experience and Language:
- BA in Business and supply chain related fields
- At least 2 years of experience in logistic, business and supply chain
- Fluently in English is must and any other international language is plus.
- Working private sector in Plc environment is preferable
