Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

To maximize efficient utilization of the Company’s inventory and warehouse by planning, monitoring and controlling the system

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

·   Develop Inventory and warehouse management policy and guidelines and monitor their implementation.

·   Plan and organize the overall operation of Inventory and warehouse.

·   Monitor warehousing activities to ensure appropriate storage.

·   Lead the inspection, appraisal, administration, storage, protection and maintenance of materials.

·   Lead the entire management process of acquired and used properties.

·   Review and check award notification and contract document for disposal properties.

·   Monitor proper handling of materials according to goods safety data sheet.

·   Oversee discrepancies between inventory records and physical counts and recommend appropriate action to rectify the discrepancies.

·   Monitor inventory levels to provide uninterrupted production while minimizing inventory-holding costs.

·   Follow up proper management of inventory level of each category of product or item, maintain adequate lead-time quantity, and issue order to the purchasing department with the view to minimize ordering, storage, and stock out costs.

·   Monitor inventory transactions at warehouse facilities to assess receiving, storage, or inventory integrity.

·   Ensure maintenance of a calendar defining when cycle counts of inventory get performed.

·   Lead the development of inventory management techniques and propose appropriate technique for application.

 

Generic Duties of the Position:

·   Develop and implement the Department’s strategic and operational plans and objectives.

·   Develop, approve and monitor the Department’s budgets.

·   Identify human resources requirements of the Department and develop plan for meeting the requirements.

·   Lead the development, implementation and review of departmental policies and procedures.

·   Review, approve and submit Departmental reports to relevant organs.

·   Support the development of subordinates through periodic performance evaluations, coaching, mentoring, on-going performance dialogue and feedback.

·   Manage disciplinary concerns of the Department’s staff.

·   Represent the Company in external relationships related with the Department.

·   Participate in a group decision-making process by forming part of different groups/committees.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

·   Master’s degree in Materials Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management or related fields with six (6) years of demonstrated experience out of which three (3) years in a supervisory position

Or

Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management or related fields with eight (8) years of demonstrated experience of which four (4) years in a supervisory position.
