Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia (HFHE) started operation in 1993 as a branch of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI). HFHE has provided simple, affordable shelter for families in Ethiopia while also working to improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene and empower Vulnerable Groups in the country.
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Coordinator is responsible for managing the urban project activities funded by LG CCK, Tower Brook Foundation and COINS in Addis Ababa in different Weredas. The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the overall components of the three projects including detail planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting as per the plan, and coordinating the construction of houses, toilets, grey wastewater disposal ditch, and other WASH relate communal facilities in Addis Ababa in different Woredas. He / She represent the LG CCK, TB and COINS to liaison the project activities with local government stakeholders, partners and beneficiary representatives by ensuring the smooth coordination, communication and engagement of project stakeholders in the proper implementation of the designed project being implemented. While doing so He/ She is responsible in maintaining timely submission of reports to donors, local government stakeholders and immediate supervisor. He/ She will closely work with the construction supervisor and hygiene and sanitation officer. He/ She reports to Project Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare work plan for the project’s implementation cascaded from the LG CCK, TB and COINS project plans.
- Coordinate with hygiene and sanitation officer in the provision of training for target community on hygiene and sanitation awareness trainings and mass campaigns during event dates.
- Timely review of Budget Vs Actual budget utilization report submitted by Grant Accountant and communicate accordingly.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to identify, select target families who are in need of immediate shelter, water supply and capacity buildings related to Hygiene and sanitation.
- Review existing implementation approaches, and trends, and make recommendations for the project and for the NO use.
- Organize showcase workshops and learning forums in partnership with government stakeholders and liaison partners and stakeholders with HFHE.
- Represent HFHE and attend in forums and meetings. Present HFHE performance (in relation to LG CCK, TB and COINS) in the sub city and city level, get feedback and work for betterment of the project.
- Coordinate the monitoring visits by government stakeholders and partners in communication with MEAL Manager by availing all the necessary logistics and resources
- The Project Coordinator shall prepare monthly work plan Vs accomplishment of the month to establish an accountability mechanism.
- Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates, small-scale product suppliers training and business development assistance.
Carry out review meetings with relevant stalk holders and beneficiary representative, based on the review prepare action plan and ensure the project’s success.
Create and strengthen the local actors to participate in the project engagement, liaise with woreda, and community level representatives, water and health offices, to effective implementation of the project.
Prepare and timely submit progress and other reports to his supervisor as required.

Job Requirements
- BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology & Management or Urban planning and management.
- Experience and knowledge in supervision and coordination of construction projects related to slum context is an added advantage.
- Experience with regard to housing construction supervision & project coordination as well as water, sanitation, and sanitation projects (soft and hard components) are/is an added advantage.
Years of Related Experience:
- For BSc degree holders – a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in construction project supervision and coordination.
- For MSc degree holders – a minimum of 3 years of related work experience in construction project supervision and coordination.
- Strong team player and ability to develop and maintain effective working relations at all levels both within and outside the Habitat for Humanity Ethiopia team.
- Working level of speaking, reading, and writing in Amharic and English is mandatory.
- Commitment to the mission and core values of HFHI
- Should be a team player, driven by own initiative, good communicator and have ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Good sales and communications skills and the ability to influence promotional efforts.
- Good computer skills (MS-Office and internet use)
