As a pioneering national NGO, it has been serving the needy through transformational investment operating seven branches and area projects in different regions and a university college in Addis Ababa City administration. HOPE involved in holistic human development with concrete interventions by ways of basic care, education, vocational training, job and business mediation and values development. The organization is currently seeking a qualified candidate and experienced Project Officer to join our team.

Job Summary 

Hope Enterprises is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Project Officer to join our SEED Project team. Reporting to the SEED Project Manager, the Project Officer will be instrumental in implementing technical and vocational training initiatives aimed at empowering youth. Key responsibilities include fostering partnerships between TVET institutions and industries, facilitating work-study and apprenticeship programs, and supporting job placement by linking TVETs with employer companies. The role focuses on ensuring program deliverables are met through effective activity planning, field implementation, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, the Project Officer will organize engagement and networking sessions, conduct site visits, and provide technical assistance to enhance the impact of the SEED Project.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • As a Project Officer for the SEED Project, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of project interventions and activities. Your duties will include:
  • Facilitating Linkages Between TVET Institutions and Industries: Build and maintain partnerships to align training programs with industry needs, creating pathways for youth to transition seamlessly from education to employment.
  • Promoting Work-Study and Apprenticeship Opportunities: Organize and oversee work-study and apprenticeship programs that provide practical, hands-on learning experiences for trainees to enhance their employability.
  • Job Placement Support: Network with employer companies to create sustainable employment opportunities for graduates of targeted TVET institutions.
  • Planning and Implementing Field-Level Activities: Develop detailed activity plans and oversee their timely execution to achieve program goals and deliverables.
  • Conducting Site Visits: Perform regular field visits to monitor progress, provide technical assistance, and ensure quality implementation of project activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with industries, TVET institutions, and other stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and program impact.
  • Supervision and Coordination: Oversee project activities to ensure alignment with timelines, objectives, and expected outcomes.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports and documentation to share achievements, challenges, and lessons learned with the SEED Project Manager and other stakeholders.

About You

Job Requirement 

Qualification 

  • BA/BSc or MSc/MA Project Management, Vocational management, Development studies, HRM and any other related fields.

Required Experience 

  • 7 years for BA/BSc or 5 years for MSc/ MA/MBA
  • Good knowledge of TVET strategy and Job creation
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Proven working experience in facilitating job linkage and networking TVET with industries or similar role
  • Ability to do multi-tasks and work under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good time-management skills and teamwork
  • Should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills

Skills & abilities

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to ensure quality standards are adhered to and understood
  • Strong management skills, with good understanding of relevant cross-cultural issues.
