Major Responsibility

Coordinating preparation of   design, plan and report documents, Monitoring  and Compliance

  • Coordinate preparation of WVE’s Right2Grow   project design, plan and report documents in alignment with that of Right2Grow Ethiopia’s Partnership.
  • Develop monitoring tools with field level Right2Grow Project officers, MEAL Coordinator, Advocacy and communication Specialist and Finance focal persons to  track progress of WVE’s Right2Grow Project implementation progresses
  • Sensitize and orientate WVE’s Right2Grow Project Staffs on the tools developed to plan ,to report and to track execution of milestones, compliance, timelines etc.
  • Facilitate and coordinate field level regular monitoring of   WVE’s Right2Grow Project implementation statuses as per DIP, milestones, compliance, timelines and deliverables for the project and by reviewing physical and financial accomplishments against set targets and timelines.
  • Facilitate Regular meetings with WVE’s Right2Grow Project staffs at HO and field level to discuss on status of activities and review burn rates.
  • Ensure preparation and on timely submission of high-quality plan and report documents of WVE’s Right2Grow Project based up on donors and stakeholders’ timeframes and expectations.
  • Assist WVNL program and finance team to monitor compliance and to ensure WVE Right2Grow Project responds professionally to all compliance and audit issues, follow-up on audit findings and evaluation recommendations.
  • Manage donor requirements by closely working with WVE’s Right2Grow Project finance focal person, WVNL Program and finance team for timely plan and report document submissions, and to ensure that WVE’s Right2Grow Project align with expected compliances and requirements.
  • Prepare and share WVE’s Right2Grow Project Progress updates to ILANS TP head and his team on monthly and quarterly basis (as required) and communicate any significant delays, bottlenecks, deviations from planned activities for timely corrections by working with MEAL, Finance and Project’s staffs.
  • Will be responsible for the Planning, execution and reporting of R2G national level activities closely collaborating with other partners and consortium manager.

Representation and  Stakeholders engagement for bigger impact and Sustainability

  • Act as a focal point for WVE’s Right2Grow Project, liaise the project and network with responsible Government stakeholders (multispectral and Signatories), CSOs and Academia and research institutions at different levels (National and regional) for common goal: ending malnutrition.
  • Actively engage in Consortium based Right2Grow Ethiopia’s PTT meetings and on other related assignments tasked by Right2Grow Consortium Manager.
  • Facilitate information-sharing, progress reviews and consultative meetings for representatives of Government, NGO and other responsible institutions to share WVE’s Right2Grow Project’s efforts and to track ongoing joint/collaborative advocacy works to address undernutrition.
  • Proactively engage with responsible stakeholders through meetings, courtesy calls, and events by deliberating investing efforts in building fruitful, innovative and creative pathways and relationships to move forward address Nutrition and WASH service delivery issues and influencing Policy implementation gaps.
  • Proactively communicating responsible stakeholders at the Regional, Zonal/Woreda and sub Woreda levels to diffuse arising challenges and manage jointly in time.
  • Facilitate and organize field visits, exposure visits for external and internal partners and Government Officials and community led representatives (CSOs, CBOs, Taskforces and Action teams) to show WVE’s Right2Grow project activities on ground and to strengthen existing working relationships to pro-actively promote a greater sense of ownership of project activities after phasing out.
  • In close coordination with the TP Head, Consortium Manager, other consortium partner’s project team and   WVE Project staffs lead the development, design and implementation of a robust and specific sustainability and exit strategy for the project.

Program execution and management and Scenario Development

  • Coordinate and supervise WVE’s Right2Grow Project DIP is well prepared, contextualized and executed in standard/quality and timely.
  • Manage both physical and financial implementation and execution of WVE’s Right2Grow Project as per DIP and budget plan for the fiscal year.
  • Monitor regularly WVE’s Right2Grow Project physical and financial execution status, identifying challenges and provide timely feedback with responsible Project’s staffs at HO and field levels.
  • Ensure availability and applicability of conflict sensitivity protective and management measures across WVE Right2Grow Project implementation sites and HO levels by closely working with Respective Area Program Managers, ILaNS TP Head and Consortium Manager as required.
  • Ensure and follow up whether WVE’s Right2Grow project staffing and arrangements are well organized in alignment with WVE P&C policy, adult safeguarding policy and standards.
  • Organize and coordinate the development of advocacy statements based on the CVA taskforce learnings on nutrition and WASH at field levels and tracking   progresses of action plans sought during interface meetings.
  • Closely work with Right2Grow Project program team at HO and field level (MEAL, Advocacy and communication Specialist, Area Program Manager and Project Officer at AP level ) to amplify or voice out Target Community unmet Needs over Nutrition and WASH sectors  though local level advocacy and Social Accountability  and budget advocacy approaches of Right2Grow Ethiopia to  improve service deliveries  and bridge policy implementation gaps with responsible government partners  ,CSOs  and community representatives .
  • Coordinating Crises Management or Scenario development plan in collaboration with other Right2Grow Ethiopia PTT members, Consortium Manager when security related issues happened and found affecting project’s implementation.
  •   Revise and execute Right2Grow project’s implementation   with aforementioned partners operating at the Regional, Zonal and sub- Woreda levels.
  • Coordinating integrated efforts Area Program level Right2Grow Project local level advocacy planned works, CVA and BMET initiatives with Nutrition, WASH , Education and Sponsorship Projects to address vulnerable undernutrition U5C and   their mothers in the project’s implementation Wroeda and region with team approach and becoming voice for voiceless.

Leadership, budget and  Knowledge management and documentation

  • Supervise Advocacy and knowledge management across WVE’s Right2Grow Project’s   implementation Area Programs sites in collaboration with responsible staffs at field and HO levels.
  • Lead WVE’s Right2Grow Project budget purchase and procuring process of planned visibility materials for event based planned (budgeted) activities by closely monitoring actions by closely working  responsible staffs ( Advocacy and communication Specialist, Project’s Officers , communication and procurement team.
  • Ensure WVE’s Right2Grow project knowledge and best practices are properly, compiled, documented and disseminated timely with expected quality internally, and well reflected on consortium partnership GO-NGO forums and Gov’t platforms.
  • Coordinating documentation, compilation and sharing of best practices and lessons learnt of WVE’s Right2Grow Project by closely working with MEAL Coordinator, Communication team and Right2Grow Project Officers.

Leadership, budget and Knowledge management and documentation

  • Pro-actively establish and maintain formal and informal partnership with Right2Grow project implementers in operational areas (Regions, Zones and Woredas) including private sectors to implement jointly planned activities, to influence, align activities and identify opportunities to leverage resources and collaborate.
  • Closely collaborate with Consortium manager in Establishing  and maintain partnerships with likeminded   partners like ECSC-SUN ,CCRDA ,Seqota Declaration Program Delivery Unit  and identified Academia  to promote joint thinking on issues related to Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and other sectors .
  • Facilitate ‘media and partners tours’ to WVE’s  Right2Grow project working areas to amplify results and impact, advocacy, highlight a close working relationship with Government representatives and structures.

External engagement with R2G partners, advisories  (CCRDA ,ESC-SUN and Sekota Declaration Program Delivery Units  ) and others (Media, Private Sectors ,Academia)

  • Pro-actively establish and maintain formal and informal partnership with Right2Grow project implementers in operational areas (Regions, Zones and Woredas) including private sectors to implement jointly planned activities, to influence, align activities and identify opportunities to leverage resources and collaborate.
  • Closely collaborate with Consortium manager in Establishing  and maintain partnerships with likeminded   partners like ECSC-SUN ,CCRDA ,Seqota Declaration Program Delivery Unit  and identified Academia  to promote joint thinking on issues related to Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, and other sectors .

  • Represent country consortium manager in Global engagements, National level activities and consortium coordination and other events in his/her absence
  • Proactively engage in global coordination and working groups like MEAL and L&A Working group to further support the national as well as global thematic area working group.
  • Collaborate with National office key units and individuals to further R2G cause through ENOUGH campaign

Job Requirements

Required Education,training, license,registration, and certification

  • Master’s degree and above in advocacy and Public Policy, Economics, Development or Social Science studies/leadership; and other related educational background and relevant trainings/certifications.

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience at the managerial  level working on leading  integrated Nutrition,  health and WASH projects in INGOs/NGOs or civil society organizations with similar portfolio;
  • Demonstrated excellent understanding of Government of Ethiopia policies and facility to engage effectively between different government and non- government stakeholders.
  • Proven ability exercise sound independent judgment and discretion in advising on and handling major project/program level issues and problems in consortium settings.
  • Experience with Foreign Affairs Gov’ts funded project work;
  • Have technical and managerial skill on consortium management and development trainings like leadership, good governance, and or advocacy etc…
  • Have adequate experience on knowledge management and documentation

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Broad understanding of Government of Ethiopia Nutrition policy landscape  and internal mechanisms;
  • Sound knowledge and experience of nutrition/health/food/WASH security programming and its challenges;
  • Rapid assessment, situational analysis ,Baseline study, Monitoring ,Evaluation  and decision-making skills
  • Skills on resource and team management
  • Excellent skills on dealing with local people/beneficiaries/authorities and Ability to work comfortably with divisional and district government authorities
  • Optimum level of interpersonal skills to keep up internal and external harmonious working relation
  • Quick learner with ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Excellent ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Federal language/s
  • Proficient computer literacy using of Microsoft Office Microsoft Word, Excel & MS Power Point

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement

  • Field visit travels of up to 40% of the time
