Duty Station:  Gambella Region, Gog Woreda, Pugnido Town

                        (With intensive & frequent field travels to different Kebeles)

Main Responsibilities:

Ø  Arranges, coordinates, and oversees activities of Woreda and Kebele level field staff members for up to 80% of his/her time;

Ø  Provides assistance and guidance to all field staff, as well as partner staff as needed and ensures that the field activities are run uninterrupted throughout the year;

Ø  Attends all woreda level task force meetings and other partnership meetings as needed;

Ø  Closely work with Data Manager, and M&E Officer to ensure that field office data are collected, entered, and timely reported

Ø  Ensure that EDEP field Office activities and surveillance system are well integrated and documented with the woreda surveillance system

Ø   Conducts annual formative assessments, cash rewards surveys and other operational research to monitor EDEP activities with the assistance of Program Manager

Ø  Work closely with the Program Manager, Human Resource Manager and programs support units to ensure staff are managed properly, monthly finance disbursements, and logistics & supplies are availed and delivered timely;

Ø  Works closely with Technical Advisors and Consultants assigned to the district office and ensures that they are engaged only in programmatic activities;

Ø  As a member of GW Leadership Team, works closely with the Senior Project Coordinator of the other endemic district and the Regional Project Manager on programmatic issues as well as program support issues that need their attention;

Ø  Collects, updates, analyzes, and maintains information required to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate program activities and conduct risk assessment and analysis to identify villages and kebeles at risk of Guinea Worm cases and intensify surveillance and awareness raising activities;

Ø  Develops and revises annual, quarterly, and monthly work plans with detail activities, targets, budgets, and indicators, and ensures effective and efficient implementation and operations;

Ø  Organizes and facilitates annual training programs for health workers, teachers, focal persons, and others;

Ø  Participates in different fieldwork conducted by national, regional and woreda gov’t and TCC staff members and ensures that both the animal and human components of GWEP activities are given due attention;

Ø  Organizes and oversees video shows and cash reward announcements, and ensures distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and placement of Guinea worm disease (GWD) and reward posters and banners in health facilities, schools, offices, markets, villages, places of worship, and other places where people congregate;

Ø  Conducts active case search, including through household visits as well as in schools, markets, places of worship, and other places where people congregate; and

Ø  Performs all other duties as instructed by his/her supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification: Master’s degree in Project Management, Public Health  or related fields from a recognized university.

Experience: minimum of ten years relevant work experience in project management focusing on humanitarian sector health projects.  NTD experience is highly preferred.

Additional Requirements:

·         Willingness to travel and work in remote areas

·         Reasonably good experience in health project management

·         Highly energetic and able to work independently with little supervision

·         Previous NGO experience

·         Prior work experience in Gambella Region minimum of 3 years and above

·         Good computer skills

·         Recommendation letter from the most recent employer

·         Able to present release letter from current employer in two weeks after job offer
