| The Senior VAWG Officer is a key team member of International Medical Corps and will oversee the overall day-to-day prevention and response interventions, including case management/psychosocial support, community mobilization for Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) prevention, capacity building and coordination with other sectors and actors in the IDP sites/camps in Ethiopia. Under the direct supervision of Field VAWG Program manager, the Senior VAWG Officer will supervise VAWG response officer and VAWG prevention officer. The senior VAWG officer will provide ongoing supervision, mentoring/coaching for team members to ensure that the goals and objectives of the program are met in a timely and effective manner, that the approach to program implementation is participatory, that team members receive appropriate support and that a positive team spirit is fostered encouraging innovative and quality programming. |

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree/ Masters in sociology, social work, public health or Maternal And Newborn Health or related experience and a minimum of four years’ experience for bachelor’s degree and three years for postgraduates. Applicants who have worked in emergency settings or refugee/IDP crises for at least three years’ experience with a capacity of team leader or supervisory role are encouraged to apply.
- Background in VAWG, and/or Protection.
- Experience in providing training.
- Experience working with communities through community entry, mobilization, and dialogue.
- Previous experience living in a hardship environment.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Language ability in local language is strongly preferred.
- Comfort in living and working in areas where assigned, including daily work in IDP sites.
