Job Summary
The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the daily operations of the storeroom/warehouse. This role ensures the secure receipt, proper storage, accurate documentation, and efficient dispatch of all goods, materials, and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software; conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counts.
- Receiving Goods: Inspect incoming shipments for quality, quantity, and damages against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Storage & Organization: Organize the storeroom efficiently to maximize space utilizing proper safety protocols (FIFO/LIFO methods where applicable).
- Issuance & Dispatch: Process internal and external stock requests, ensuring the correct items are packed and dispatched promptly.
- Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous documentation of all stock movements (goods received notes, requisitions, and return logs).
- Safety & Maintenance: Keep the store clean, secure, and compliant with occupational health and safety regulations.
