Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Youth Mobilization officer is Accountable to CCP Jimma cluster office team leader and will work with
youth leaders in the kebeles to mobilize youth, engage in community service initiatives, and build their
capacities through their engagement.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Provide necessary expertise support to ensure effective implementation of the project activities.
  • Implement the best youth mobilization strategies designed by the project and deal with any
  • bottlenecks that are impeding the delivery of effective youth services
  •  Keep documentation of an inventory of effective methods and strategies for demand generation, youth mobilization, and participation
  •  Support pre-community service orientation sessions in collaboration with woreda implementation team and interns.
  • Work with woreda and kebele level implantation team and ensure smooth implantation of  community service activities.
  • Conduct pause and reflect, review meetings and supportive supervisions activities.
  • Support and follow-up business development and entrepreneurship training for youth in community service activities.
  • Support the establishment of MSEI at one stop service and documentation mechanism.
  • Data Quality Control: Conducting quality control checks to identify and resolve data discrepancies or errors.
  • Documentation: ensure proper documentation of project data at the woreda
  • Create a tracking strategy for data and outcomes related to youth intake registration and enter the data into computer systems.
  • Engage in youth-focused demand-creation initiatives based on “what works” and evidence-based  practice.
  • Provide timely response, and feedback, and assist the program team leader and focal persons on technical and management matters relevant to youth program implementations.
  • Share best practices regarding youth within the project through the Success Model platform.
  • Ensure advocacy support, knowledge and building high quality programming for youth, gender  equality and inclusion.
  • Carry out work duties in a way that does not harm children, adults, staff or volunteers, and does not expose them to further risk of abuse or exploitation.
  • Promote an environment of respect and trust with program participants, community members, partners, and staff both at the office and in communities.
  • Perform Other similar duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

  •  Bachelor’s degree social science and relevant experience in youth mobilization, community engagement or other related disciplines.
  • 2 years of work experience
  • Experience in working with different stakeholders at zonal, woreda, kebele level actors.
  • Training or education in the delivery of youth-related programs and/or youth program development, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is preferable.
  • strong commitment to young people and an understanding of the factors affecting their lives.
  • Ability to treat young people’s concerns with respect, tact, and sensitivity, while being aware of the limits that are required by confidentiality and the boundaries that govern the
  • youth/youth worker relationship.
  • excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish good relationships with young people.
  • willingness and ability to travel to the regions in
  • Skill in demand generation and youth mobilization/engagement, strengthening service; delivery projects, training, performance, and quality improvement, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Experience in capacity-building activities, preferably across a diverse group of individuals
