Moyee Coffee stands as the initial multinational coffee roasting company based in Ethiopia boasting a seamlessly integrated operation spanning the entire coffee value chain, from cultivation to consumption.
The Finance Business Partner will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of coffee farming operations and developing strategic partnerships to support the financial health and growth of the coffee farm business. This role involves a blend of financial management, relationship building, Budgeting, planning and controlling within the context of coffee agriculture
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
o Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets for coffee farming operations, taking into account variables such as production costs, market trends, and revenue projections.
o Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, including ROI, cost of production, profitability by crop, and cash flow management.
o Implement financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in financial management.
2. Partnership Development:
o Negotiate terms and agreements with partners, including financing arrangements, investment opportunities, supply contracts, and collaboration agreements.
o Collaborate with partners to develop innovative financial solutions, such as pre-harvest financing, forward contracts, impact investing, or value-added services to enhance the financial sustainability of coffee farming operations.
3. Risk Management:
o Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with coffee farming, including market volatility, weather-related risks, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory changes.
o Implement risk management strategies, such as hedging, insurance, diversification of revenue streams, and contingency planning to safeguard the financial interests of the coffee farm business.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., farm management team, and operations staff) to ensure alignment of financial goals with overall business objectives.
o Engage with external stakeholders, including coffee farmers, suppliers, and to foster collaboration, transparency, and trust in financial partnerships.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, /Accounting
· Proven experience in financial management, preferably in agriculture, agribusiness, or related industries.
· Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, and make data-driven decisions.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
· Knowledge of the coffee industry, including supply chain dynamics, market trends, and agronomic practices, is desirable.
· Commitment to ethical business practices, social responsibility, and sustainable development goals in the context of coffee farming.
Additional Requirements:
· Willingness to travel to coffee-growing regions, and engage with stakeholders in-person as needed.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
