Job Title 6: HR and Safeguarding Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Communications Officer to join our dynamic team. The role of post holder will play a crucial role in recruiting, managing and developing staff to create a safe organization and will be responsible in development/revision and implementation of the safeguarding policy and procedures.

Main Duties include the following but not limited to:
Human Resource:
• Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
• Provide counseling on policies and procedures
• Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
• Create and implement effective on boarding plans
• Develop training and capacity development programs
• Assist in performance management processes
• Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
• Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements
• Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
Safeguarding:
• Conduct safeguarding induction for newly hired staff and volunteers.
• Conduct safeguarding training for staff and volunteers appropriate to their roles.
• Ensure that all staff, volunteers, contractors and partners understand the code of conduct, are aware of expected behaviors and implications of misconduct.
• Ensure that all staff, volunteers, partners and contractors sign the code of conduct.
• Raise awareness on safeguarding policy in project communities and ensure that community members know what behaviors to expect from staff and how to raise and report concerns.
• Receive safeguarding reports/ concerns and ensure that appropriate steps are taken to address them.
• Provide regular updates regarding reports/ concerns that arise to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain proper documentation of all reports and the case handling process.
• Clarify questions on safeguarding raised by staff, volunteers, partners and contractors.
• Support the organization to implement and monitor the safeguarding policy and report regularly to senior management on issues with implementation.
• Build and maintain relationships with service providers ensuring that the organization has the right network of support.

Qualifications/Skills
Requirements and skills
• Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
• Knowledge of safeguarding guidance and procedure
• Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS (human Resource Management System) is a plus
• Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
• Strong ethics and reliability

Education Requirement:
• Masters or BA degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related fields.
• Experience : At least 3 years for MA or 5 years for BA Years proven experience as HR officer, administrator or other HR position

Education Level:Bachelor’s
Experience:3-5 years
