Introduction
The Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) was established in 2005, and re-registered by the FDRE Charities and Societies Agency as an Ethiopian Resident Charity. ECDD works collaboratively with other organizations to promote facilitate and build capacity for “disability inclusive development” – the inclusion of disability issues and persons with disabilities in mainstream government and non-governmental service delivery and development projects and programs in Ethiopia.
Job Description
Project Management:
• Support partners to manage all aspects of the project cycle including planning, implementation and monitoring.
• Ensure all project documentation and reports produced on time.
• Coordinate with partner for timely submission of quarterly reports and Updates.
• Work with the project team of ‘PRIDE’ to review the progress reports, analyses Updates and timely feedback to the partners.
• Develop and implement Project’s work plans on annual/six monthly/quarterly basis.
• Carryout regular field visits to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
• Prepare briefing papers/project updates for periodic review meetings.
• Compile project beneficiary case studies when required.
• Support PC in new project proposal writings, when required.
• Any other task assigned by the PC.
Partnership development
• Maintain and strengthen partnership with implementing partners.
• Support the PC for networking with key stakeholders working in the project Region.
Support the PC in building project staff capacity in project management.
Advocacy
• Participate in ECDD/PRIDE profile raising activities including the ‘International Disability Days Celebration’.
• Assist partners and involve with them to conduct workshops and conferences.
Represent Sight savers at conferences and workshops and support the PC in raising organizational profile.
Financial & Resource Management:
Work closely with the Finance & Support Services department to help prepare monitoring expenditure.
| Ensure that partner manage and utilize project assets as per USAID/ECDD/PRIDE policy. |
Job Requirements
• University Degree in relevant field (Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, MBA).
• Minimum of 2 years working experience, ideally in an INGO or well acknowledged NGO, having experience of working with government partners and project fund/grant management.
* Experience on all aspects of project management.
Skills (Special Training or Competence): | ||
• Report writing. • Problem solving. • Analytical. • Social mobilization. • Knowledge of database management and good command over MS Office. • Good understanding to work with project budgets, forecasts and reports. • Good communication skills (both oral and written). • Proficient in both verbal and written English. Afaan Oromo language skill is required for those applying on the respective region.
