Job Summary

Mantrac Ethiopia is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to provide technical

support, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhaul

services for Caterpillar equipment and related machinery in both the field and the

workshop environments. The role requires delivering high-quality service in line with

Caterpillar and Mantrac standards while ensuring customer satisfaction, safety

compliance, and machine reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment
• Perform field and workshop service activities in line with Caterpillar standards
• Use CAT ET and other diagnostic tools for fault identification and analysis
• Prepare accurate technical service reports and job documentation
• Support customers with technical advice and maintenance recommendations
• Identify additional service and parts sales opportunities during inspections
• Ensure proper care and utilization of tools, equipment, and service vehicles
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures

Requirements

• BSc Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience for Degree holders or 5 years for Diploma holders in heavy industry equipment/service operations
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery preferred
• Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to use CAT ET and technical manuals
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Willingness to work in field environments and travel when required
