Key Responsibilities:

Main Responsibility

• Organize, and coordinate the overall activities of the drilling operation in the field along with the crew team leader,
• Report timely the progress of the drilling operation;
• Facilitate mobilization and demobilization of the drilling crew and machineries;
• Supervise the proper setting of the drilling rig and use of proper tools;
• Provide with the necessary information for well completion;
• Plan and facilitate the regular service and maintenance of the drilling rig, compressor and trucks along with the chief mechanic/ or the mechanic driver;
• Provide the litho logical and other relevant data for casing arrangement and assist the crew leader (Drilling Operation Officer) for the same;
• Manage the movement of field vehicles, trucks, use of fuel coupons and petty cash at a field level;
• Prepare and submit list of drilling supplies and other items required periodically/annually;
• Drive light vehicle of the drilling team;
• Train and guide the assistant drillers;

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

At least 8 years working with heavy water well drilling rigs. Able to handle the rig properly while operations in site, able to understand detail operating principles of the rotary and DTH drilling techniques,

Able to perform inspection of the drilling machine, Any relevant experiences are advantageous, Good  communications skills; the ability to listen and then clearly describe the problem and proposed solution,

Worked in similar sized organization like WV Ethiopia with proven technical experiences,

Good written and spoken communication skills in English, In depth knowledge in the drilling business and processes of his/her capacity.

Collaboration across business and technical teams of the drilling operations drilling staff, Basic knowledge of Microsoft windows, and outlook.

Always fast learner in the drilling business.

Exhibit professional ethics in handling confidential information, uses it systems, security and resources as per the policies and requirements of world vision Ethiopia/international,

• Diploma in Auto mechanics & related fields such as in Auto electricity, Auto mechanics, General mechanics, woodwork, metal work,
• 3rd grade driving license mandatory,
• Knowhow of welding and grinding capability is advantageous,
• Any relevant technical training in borehole drilling works,
•  Certification /Diploma in Auto mechanics & related fields such as in Auto electricity, Auto mechanics, General mechanics, woodwork, metal work,
